Bob Dylan (real name Robert Allen Zimmerman) was born in the small town of Duluth in Minnesota in a family of Jewish immigrants from Russia who fled from Odessa Jewish pogroms in 1905. His father, Abraham Zimmerman and mother Beatrice stone were active participants in the Jewish community of the town. In 1947, the father of the young Dylan’s doctors discovered a terrible disease – polio. So the family had moved to the city of Hibbing.
